A much rarer configuration of the the Shobu Zukuri (leaf like tip) Katana – the Ayame has a yokote (ridgeline) that runs all the way to the tip, creating a very prominent – but relatively fragile needle like point for deep penetration of soft targets.

The dyed black authentic same (Ray skin) handle wrap, tight brown ito wrap and the detailed tsuba make for a very beautiful sword. Indeed, the tsuba of the Ayame is much more refined than any previous Cheness Katana and compliments the slender tip extremely well.

As far as we know, there is NO other manufacturer making the Shobu Zukuri with this unique geometry, making it a great addition to round out a collection at an extremely affordable price.
