Model 001 of the Dojo budget series is named after the most famous Ronin Warrior of all time, Miyamoto Musashi - who is credited with designing the double 'c' ring style tsuba that adorns this practical and very affordable entry level, dojo quality Katana.

Like the Dojo Pro series, the fittings are made from the highest quality materials - solid iron tsuba, fuchi & kashira, with silk ito wrap (synthetic silk for the sageo) and brass menuki, though they do not have buffalo horn reinforcements on the saya.
The only other difference between the Dojo Pro grade and this model is the steel - the Dojo Pro swords are made from super tough 1060 carbon steel, while this sword is made from 1045 carbon steel - however as the blade is made in the thicker 'Dotanuki' style, it has been proven to be a sturdy and reliable cutter suitable for frequent dojo useage and able to be used frequently on targets such as tatami omote and bamboo without issue.
The combination of low price, strong blade and high quality fittings makes the Miyamoto a perfect choice for the sword art practitioner on a strict budget who refuses to make sacrifices.
