Hanwei Practical Norman SwordHanwei Practical Norman Sword1
SOLD OUTUnsharpened Norman sword suitable for and popular with WMA enthusiasts and re-enactors
An important addition to Paul Chen European practical line is the Practical Norman sword, based on a classic 11th century pattern popular during the Norman Invasion of Britain. The high-carbon deeply-fullered blade by Hanwei is light and well-balanced, with the wide edges required by the re-enactment community. The guard is wider than that of the earlier Viking designs that preceded this pattern and the pommel is of the “tea-cosy” type The grip is grooved and leather-wrapped and the scabbard is left plain for owner decoration.

sword is stout. took some whacks on the trees outside to test durability and i'd say it passed muster.
hilt is a little small for my tastes, but it's a norman sword. it's a dull sword, so no cutting edge, but that should be a given since it's a blunt trainer. the POB is a little further out too, but this isn't my standard sword for practice so i could just be unfamiliar with the sword style.
Overall, I like the sword. would definitely buy again. no major griefs with any part of it. next step is finding a place that does medieval martial arts
