The Practical Plus Katana (PPK) is a sword that has stood the test of time and out of all the economical blades to hit the market, the PPK was the first and STILL represents quite tremendous value for money..

An upgraded version of the Practical Katana, the main difference is that the PPK uses more traditional fittings and construction methods.

The blade is forged and differentially hardened in the traditional claying method with a prominent hamon. The Practical Plus katana features genuine Same (Rayskin) on the Tsuka, with a wrap (Tsuka-Ito) specially developed for its gripping qualities. The long tang is double-pegged for security. The fittings of the Practical Plus katana are decorated in a Japanese Dogwood motif with dragon menuki, and the handsome Tsuba is of an iron “sunburst” design with a brass habaki.

A true classic at a price almost anyone can afford.

How to Use

Designed as a traditional cutter in a dojo environment. Recommended for use on tatami mats, bamboo and water filled bottles.
