This is the last of our stock of the Kaneie swords, these Musashi style katana with all the high-end features of the Menkyo series were never advertised since we only ever received a handful of them. Obviously making these swords EXTREMELY RARE!

These swords have some extremely minor cosmetic flaws such as a tiny scratch on the saya and rayskin falling slightly short of the full handle length, showing some wood near the tsuba that save you over $800!!

The blade is differentially hardened T10, hand polished in the traditional manner to a full "art" polish. Details in the hamon are exquisite and must be seen in person to truly appreciate. The blade is a well balanced cutter, with healthy niku (appleseed edge geometry).

ABOUT KANEIE

Based out of Shanghai, Kaneie forges their own samurai sword blades adhering closely to the traditional Japanese shapes but use modern steels to produce a superior overall production sword. Many of the steel and alloy fittings are sourced from Japan as well as the handle wrap (ito). Kaneie carves the scabbard and handle from high quality woods and shapes them to a high standard not seen outside of high end custom swords and, of course, Japan.

The Menkyo collection is unique in every way and is the ultimate cross-over between ancient smithing techniques and modern steel. These swords feature a unique Choji hamon which has never been done before on a production sword. All this beauty comes together by a traditional sashikomi (old style) or kesho hadori (modern style) sword polish.

Warranty Info

We guarantee if you keep it well oiled and maintained, the blade of any sword sold from the SBG sword store will hold up to a LIFETIME of reasonable usage without breakage. If it breaks during the course of reasonable and intended usage we will replace it with either the same (or if unavailable, a similar) model completely free of charge. If you abuse it, like try to cut down a tree, attempt to replicate the destructive testing vids on you tube or otherwise use it in any way outside of traditional cutting techniques, we will do our best to help but the warranty is void. This warranty applies to the original purchaser (proof of purchase required) and remains in effect for as long as SBG is around to honor it.

All in stock orders placed Monday to Thursday ship within 1-2 business days (tracking number provided, UPS or USPS for post office boxes). Kaneie swords all have FREE SHIPPING in the USA! Shipping is usually by UPS ground, though USPS is used for PO Boxes and Roadside Rural addresses. International (non-US) orders are unavailable at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
