The Chokuto proto sword was an early East Asian sword design that was exported from China into Japan and Korea circa 618-690AD. The classic "Ninjato" seen in Hollywood blockbusters has its earliest genesis in this exotic blade, and this example features many design elements such as full rayskin wrap on the handle and a classic chisel tip (Kamasu Kissaki) with real hamon (called "Frost Snow" in Chinese) that were to later evolve and become central elements to the Japanese Katana.
