The Practical Gongfu Broadsword is a further extension of Hanwei's “Practical” Series. Featuring a distal-tapered high carbon steel blade, wrapped grip and steel fittings, the saber is a traditional ox-tail design. The textured wooden scabbard is designed with a slotted opening, which makes both for easy sheathing and graceful lines. In line with other swords in the “Practical” series, the Practical Gongfu Broadsword is very affordable.

I'm a practitioner and instructor of Lam Hung Pak Mei kung fu, as well as a student of JSA (Japanese Sword Arts) through both MJER Iai and Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu. This nuweidao (oxtail saber) is a beautiful, hefty weapon; nicely uniform, feels great in-hand. The point-of-balance is such, that I can make upward diagonal cuts, transition to lower diagonal cuts all but instantaneously. I'm giving it 5 stars, and challenge anyone to find a better cutting dao under $200. You won't.
