Wu Zixu, first ancestor of the Wu clan was an ancient Chinese general and politician of the turbulent Spring and Autumn period and part of his story involved an early period Jian that was surprisingly technologically advanced for the era known as the 'Dragon Abyss Sword' or 'Sword of Integrity'.
This fully functional, Master Smith crafted blade is a fitting tribute to this legendary sword. The blade itself is meticulously folded to perfection and differentially hardened to produce a clear and attractive delineation line that in a Japanese sword would be called a 'hamon' but is called 'Shaungxue' in Chinese and results in harder, sharper edges with a shock absorbent core to harmoniously balance between hard and soft elements.
It is complimented with a very distinctive and unique handguard section depicting a frightening Dragon taotie face cast from solid brass that continues into a one piece, solid brass handle that helps shift the balance closely towards the guard and is housed in its custom made black ebony wood scabbard with brass accents at the throat, suspension bar and chape.
