5160 Spring Steel Differentially hardened Blade with clean notare wave hamon and decked out with premium silver and gold accented water lily tsuba set. A serious workhorse of a blade at a fraction of its value.
A grade higher than the T10 Ryujin Custom Katana series - this sword has a 5160 Spring Steel blade with a long working life, as 5160 Spring Steel is designed to last longer than any other type of spring or tool steel. The steel has been differentially hardened in the traditional manner to produce a prominent and clearly defined notare (wave) hamon with an edge hardness of HRC 60 and spine hardness HRC 42 and terminates in a kissaki with geometric yokote and clear boshi and is truly optimized for the cut.
To compliment the premium quality steel and the clean natural hamon, it is decked out in "Yuri" (water lily) themed iron tsuba set with real 24K gold and silver accents for maximum component durability and overall aesthetic appeal. The handle is wrapped in super tight black cotton ito wrapped using hishigami - almost unheard of at this kind of price point - and has a silver tsunami waved fuchigashira, silver florish menuki and genuine samegawa. The sword is sheathed in a quality black lacquered wooden saya with thick, hard wearing and practical black sageo.
Everything about this build is designed for frequent use over an extended period - in short, these are serious, practical blades that are surprisingly robust yet traditionally constructed and priced so that you get the most bang for your buck.
