It is a high end blade with a hamon that is straighter and less active than what our QC demands for this line and is being sold as is at a heavily discounted price.
SCRATCH AND DENT ISSUE
The hamon temper line of this sword should have been more active and has some 'flat' areas that detract from its overall cosmetic appearance. For this reason, it is being marked down and sold off at the current scratch and dent price point. Otherwise, it is an excellent example of type.
PRODUCT DETAILS
An SBG exclusive, the Project X series Custom Katana line are the pinnacle of the various custom katana projects we have been involved with since 2008. Project X blades are hands down the best quality Katana blades currently being produced in Longquan and are forged and polished by only the most senior Master level swordsmiths and swordpolishers at the forge of the acclaimed Swordsmith brothers Xiaowu Jiang and Xialong Jiang.
TIER IV CUSTOM KATANA
The Project X Next Generation Elite T10 Choji Hi Polish Custom Katana is the second sword in the Project X series. It is based on the Forge Direct Custom Katana (Tier III Custom Katana), but the blade is upgraded with the maximum amount of time invested to create an especially lively and prominently polished blade (using Japanese fingerstones for the final level) to Project X's extremely high standards (Tier IV) and lifting the entire build to the next level for the most authentic, and keen, edge possible.
Like a fingerprint, each blade is unique and has its own distinctive patterning of the natural hamon temperline, and because this one is not as active as it should be with too many straight spots, it is being sold off at the current discounted price.
The sword is decked out in Project X/Forge Direct fitting sets with an iron, gold plated Dragon themed tsuba, plain iron fuchigashira set, black silk ito over real rayskin and a black lacquered saya with hard wearing black sageo.
