The second design of 10 limited edition series blades from Forge Direct, the aptly named 'Black Dragon Ouroboros' with rare design elements usually not available o the Forge direct series, such as a Black Mother of Pearl Saya and Tatatemaki 'Battle wrap' ito in cotton just to name a few.
Limited to 10ps worldwide (signed, numbered certificate by Paul Southren and the Smith included).

In the year of the Dragon, I knew we had the make some special Dragon themed blades with Forge Direct and Project X. The first in the series was the "Kuryuken" (紅龍剣) which means roughly 'Red Dragon' in Japanese. All 10 swords sold out within the first 48 hours from memory, mostly because because they were stupidly priced without any though for profits and the designs had cool and rare elements..

What do you get:
- Master Smith hand forged T10 tool steel blade with real hamon
- Master Polisher, easy cutting, very sharp and clean edge
- Hand carved traditional bo-hi to slightly lighten and re-balance the blade
- Unavailable Black saya with Dragon theme Mother of Pearl Inlay
- Premium black cotton ito wrap with Katatemaki wrap style
- Beautiful gold and silver fittings, high build quality throughput
Now all features aside for a moment (an there are a lot of them I know), how about price?
Normally just a basic blade with most basic saya and fittings would set you back a reasonable $840, and for that money we have a LOT of very happy customers and varied designs. But for the Black Drago Ouroboros we didn't hold black, the black double lacquered saya has premium buffalo horn fittings with a Dragon themed white mother of pearl inlaid design (this particular model is no longer sold in small quantities and needs to be special ordered for $90 extra), premium sageo - black cotton ito in the battle wrap 'Katatamaki style' (which we don't do as again the forge usually has a high minimum order for anything a bit different and costs an additional $25) and it's all set off with a premium (usually $34.40) fitting set in gold and silver. So do the maths, its $989.40 but despite it being limited to only 10pcs we have gone the other way and instead of charging money for nothing extra, we are discounting it to $899.99!
Needless to say, these won't be available for long - the only downside, you will need to wait 6-8 weeks for completion and delivery. but if some patience is the biggest cost (seriously, we should charge way more for these swords) - go for it. I am 99.9% confident it will be one of your best Katana purchases ever.
