This is my first sword and I admit I was a bit nervous when I first saw that the scabbard was bowed. Then I was nervous that I couldn't get the sword out of the scabbard. It turns out that its just a really snug fit. The sword blade itself is perfectly straight and almost perfectly ground. This is the real deal! The fit and finish of this sword is nearly perfect. From the peened pommel to the leather wrapped grip and the guard all are executed very well. Very happy with the quality of this weapon. And the swish sound it makes while swinging, priceless! Its a bit on the hefty side but its rather long so understandable. Not razor sharp, but definitely sharp enough to cut no problem. The blade is polished rather well, but I plan to polish it even farther to get a mirror finish out of it.

Scabbard seems a bit cheaply made.
Belt system is really low quality, but in this price range the fact it comes with a scabbard is really nice. Scabbard looks okay but would be nicer with a higher quality leather belt and strap.
Overall very excited about this purchase and can't wait to try cutting stuff with it! Wife isn't as excited but its always been my childhood dream to have a real sword so she understood.
