Each sword in this range is hand forged from top quality 1075 carbon steel, properly heat treated for strength and flexibility and sharpened so you can use them for cutting straight out of the box (or if you prefer, used to cut up the box, though be sure to take out the form fitting Styrofoam, added to protect against damage in transit). But no reason to stop there, these swords can easily cut water filled bottles of all shaped and sizes, super thick bamboo, tatami mats, you name it - they can handle it!

This particular model is a single handed Viking sword based on a variation of the Oakeshott Type Xa, with central fuller, cusped style guard hilt and classic 3 lobed pommel. Shorter and much faster in the hand than model 8. Ready to cut straight out of the box.

I just received the sword in the mail today, I’ll say it’s a very fine piece of craftsmanship out of the box. It was sharp enough that I cut myself within 10 minutes of messing with it. The blade feels well balanced and the hilt is tight. The only thing I have any issue with is that the belt strap/buckle is placed too low on the scabbard and it causes the hilt to point downward - but it is moveable and not sewn to the scabbard which is useful as I don’t intend on keeping it anyway. I have a set of sword straps ordered to replace the stock strap. All-in-all I’m very happy with the purchase!
