Based on Chinese legends, Mulan may or may not have been a historical figure who, sometime in the 4th to 6th century AD, was purported to have disguised herself as a man to take the place of her aging father in a war against Northern invaders. Proving herself in battle, and having come to the attention of the Emperor himself, she reveals her true identity and retires to a simple life in her hometown..
Brought to the West by Disney, this replica is an exact copy of the sword seen in the 2020 live action reboot of the story even down to the engraving of Loyal, Brave, and True. Based on historical swords from the 6th century, it features a distinctive ring pommel and red tassel and can be used either one handed or with two hands to deliver maximum speed and velocity.
No mere ornament, the 1045 carbon steel blade is well tempered and surprisingly strong (a well tempered 1045 carbon steel blade like this one is only slightly less durable than a 1060 carbon steel blade) - and certainly makes a very pleasant change from the stainless steel blades usually found on swords at this kind of price point.
