The fifth seal is broken with the release of what is the most brutal of all the Tactical Swords in the Doomsday series thought up by esteemed sword tester and sword designer, Jason Woodard. With a powerful cleaving and chopping blade flowing from a hand guard that both defends the knuckles, and packs one heck of a punch that works just as well on glass, light steels and wood as it does on zombies, it is both extremely versatile and of course - eminently durable.
Clearly designed to be used with one hand, while quite hefty at 2.8lbs the point of balance is only 3" from the guard ensuring fast recovery from even the most forceful, adrenaline powered swing. And with the full tang, walnut wood handle pinned and epoxied firmly in place, is effectively of a one piece construction - ensuring it can survive even the most demanding survival situations.
The blade itself is made from 1095 carbon steel, which when combined with Chris's superior heat treatment process results in an EXTREMELY DURABLE and almost indestructible sword. The blade is heated to approximately 1500 degrees, until it becomes non magnetic and then quenched in brine (salt water). The 2nd step is Heat Tempering, which consists of heating the steel to 500 degrees for 2 hours, and letting it air cool. This makes for a Rockwell Hardness of approximately 57.
Unlike most other swords at this price point, Scorpion Swords are individually hand made by Chris Palmer at his workshop in Missouri. All orders are handmade in our shop as orders are received. They are NOT Factory Made! High order volume makes it difficult to keep any of their weapons in stock, so please allow 6-8 weeks for completion and delivery.
