The unique Shashka (or Shashqua) cavalry saber has its roots in the 12th century Caucasus region of Europe.
Long associated with the Cossacks, the “Cavalry of the Steppes”, the sword was standard military issue for Russian cavalry of the day. Here is an excellent replica of a traditional Shaska you would find among the common folk of Caucasus Mountain in the 1700s. Simple, powerful and graceful in the hand for a horseman's sabre. The smooth wood handle unites your grip to the sword in to one. The black leather wrapped scabbard features stainless steel accoutrements.
