The original Dragon Dao was a limited edition (20 pcs worldwide) Project X Masterpiece by Master Michael Ye, an amazing looking, handling and cutting Dao the likes the west had never seen before. This non limited, all black version is a serious bargain and cuts with terrifying authority.

The original Dragon Dao by Master Michael Ye was the second of only 2 Project X Chinese Swords, the other the Jian of the Marquis Yi. Limited edition (20 pcs worldwide) the Dragon Dao was an amazing looking, handling and cutting Dao the likes the west had never seen before. Promised that the last run had been made, the blades and fittings were worth several thousand but sold for around $1800 a piece (as is the SBG way).
You can't buy them anymore, but the basic design is so cool and so radical that we agreed to make a Mark II version, not using quite as nice fitting sets (we may have lost all the premium rayskin scabbad and handle), and may not quite have the crazy highest world class polishing the original 20 had, but as always we would not cut any corners where they count..
Still made and signed by Master Ye - still made from folded and differentially hardened 1095 carbon steel with quality wooden, brass and silver plated fittings. And still cuts like a, well, how can anyone even begin to describe how it feels to cut or thrust with this Dao?
If you haven't actually handled or cut with one yet "Wicked one handed cutting power you have to experience to really believe it.." is about the best anyone could hope to some up..
History buffs will find a close replica in the the Fujian Museum and the original design it is based on a blade dated to the Qing Dyntasy (1644-1912), a time of great experimentation and refinement of concepts started thousands of years prior.
Its subtle silver, black and steel design is both primal and yet highly refined, with many silver Dragons and complex, geometric shapes adorn every element of hilt and scabbard. But the blade itself, with double, internally balanced fullers, complex folded 1095 carbon steel and extra hard and sharp differentially refined edge literally takes your breath away and it is fantastic to see that this super cool, if not quite as luxurious as the original, remains one of the most elite and effective Dao currently on the market..
