Step back into the 14th century with the XIVa Type Medieval Longsword, inspired by the historical Oakeshott Type XIVa swords. Known for their versatility on the battlefield, these swords were capable of both delivering powerful cuts and fight-ending thrusts, making them a formidable weapon during medieval times.

The XIVa Type Medieval Longsword by Swordier features a distal-tapered 65mn spring steel blade, ensuring excellent balance, durability, and flexibility, capable of withstanding up to 35 lbs of flex strength. Its peened pommel and stainless steel fittings provide both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. The handle combines an oxblood red leather wrap (matching the scabbard) on the top section of the hilt with tightly wrapped wire on the bottom half for enhanced grip and control and is designed for comfort and control.

The genuine leather scabbard adds functionality and historical accuracy, being waist-wearable and perfect for reenactments, training, or display. Unlike most other swords in this price range, the scabbard is of premium quality, with a genuine leather wrap, wood core, and hand-stitched to perfection. Historically, the cost of a good scabbard was close to that of the blade itself, and this remains true in modern times. Having a quality scabbard like this to complement the sword is unheard of at this price point.

Moreover, unlike most other medieval swords on the market, the blades come paper-cutting sharp and are ready for some serious backyard cutting straight out of the box.

This long sword is a fine balance of form and function, ideal for martial artists, collectors, and historical enthusiasts. Experience the craftsmanship and heritage of the XIVa Type Medieval Longsword by Swordier.

A Knights Dream 01/08/2025
By Daniel Gordon
WOW!! This is a beautiful sword the fit and finish is very high. The way its packaged the quality of the materials, the sword itself. BAM!! Spot on. Any medieval Knight would be proud to wear this sword to court or on the battlefield.... if he had a belt. One of the only cons I have on this piece is NO BELT. The Less expensive Flower of War, came with a belt. This was more expensive and rightly so, because the sword is well worth the money. So why no belt?? Besides a couple small issues, a casting, crack on the pommel and blade to cross guard fit is not good, But this is expected in mass production, where you are mix and matching parts. I am having a hard time believing the blades are not machine ground they are so well done. Don't get me wrong this sword is a Knights Dream, but it would have been great to belt it on and be transported back in time and be a hero in your own story. If it had a belt to complete the kit it would be 5 stars, but I have to give it a 4 star rating. Daniel K Gordon PS The sword is wicked sharp... it will draw blood weather you like it or not if you are careless!!
Our responseWe will likely be adding belts to these to make them the compete wearable package. Be careful, like all the Swordier medievals it is dangerously sharp.
