The AzureForge X03 is a refined medieval arming sword featuring a distinctive Gothic writhen guard and pommel reminiscent of late‑15th‑century craftsmanship. With its elegant twisted‑steel aesthetic, the hilt evokes the same visual language seen in the Cawood Sword and even the cinematic interpretation of Boromir’s sword in The Lord of the Rings. This gives the X03 a striking historical presence while maintaining the practical handling expected of a true single‑handed cutter.
Forged from 60Si2Mn silicon‑manganese alloy spring steel, the blade is oil‑quenched, wire‑draw polished, and treated as a functional cutting weapon rather than a decorative replica. It offers high tensile strength and flexibility, capable of bending ten degrees without deformation, and is sharp enough for piercing sheet metal and chopping wood, as demonstrated in AzureForge’s testing videos. The rhombus cross‑section enhances cutting performance while keeping the sword lively in the hand.
The X03 uses full‑tang construction for stability and durability. The guard and pommel are cast from polished 304 stainless steel in a Gothic writhen style, providing both visual authenticity and rust resistance. The fittings are riveted to prevent loosening during use. The handle features a wooden core wrapped in anti‑slip heat‑shrink rubber, offering a secure, fatigue‑reducing grip suitable for extended practice. After multiple balance iterations, the blade weight sits at 1.15 kg with a center of gravity just over three inches from the guard, giving the sword a responsive, agile feel ideal for single‑handed work.
A PU sheath is included for safe storage and carry. As a handmade item rather than a mass‑produced factory sword, minor tolerances in weight or length are normal. AzureForge maintains strict quality control, though a small probability of minor steel imperfections may occur due to material properties. The AzureX Series focuses on delivering real sword feel, performance, and affordability by optimizing materials and surface treatments without compromising structural integrity.
The brushed‑metal finish enhances edge sharpness and cutting smoothness. Because of its high‑carbon composition and textured surface, the blade is more prone to oxidation than mirror‑polished swords. Sweat, moisture, and cutting residue should be wiped away promptly to prevent rust and maintain peak condition.
AzureForge brings over a decade of sword‑making experience to the AzureX line, iterating designs based on customer feedback and inviting enthusiasts to participate in future development. The X03 is suitable for martial arts practice, collection, and display, and ships quickly from our US warehouse for fast domestic delivery.
