Huge two handed Norse style two handed Warsword classified as an Oakeshott Type XVIIIe. Surprisingly light weight and agile for such a massive sword. Made to order, typically ships in 1-2 weeks.
This extremely distinctive looking two handed sword is classified by Oakeshott as a XVIIIe, a very unusual member of the Type XVIII group. It features a long, stiff diamond shaped blade with an extremely long handle, making it suitable for cut and thrust swordplay as many other swords were in the later 15th Century.
The hilt itself is extremely attractive and authentic, with a mild steel crossguard and genuine leather wrap handle. This sword also has a long unsharpened ricasso that can be gripped to shorten up the blade for closer work. This option to fight with the “half sword” makes the Danish Two-Handed Sword an incredibly versatile weapon.
This sword has an attractive lobed pommel typical for this style of blade, which is also PEENED to the hilt for maximum durability.
Weighing in just shy of 3lbs the Danish Two Hander is very fast for a sword of this size and once sharpened, is more than capable of generating enough speed to cut even the lightest targets such as pool noodles yet durable enough to take on much heavier targets, making it extremely versatile for such a large sword.
Unlike Darksword blades we sold in the past, the sword is automatically also given a thorough sharpening until it is paper cutting sharp (normally costing an extra $35) and is also shipped FREE in North America - giving you the very best deal possible.
This sword comes with a wood core scabbard as standard with the option to upgrade it to include a premium quality sword belt with suspension system - allowing it to be worn or for an extra flourish when not in use hung on the wall (see below for a comparison).
