Scorpion Swords - Badland Katana 2.0 - Doomsday Line Sword #01

An original design by esteemed sword tester and sword designer Jason Woodard and the first sword in his exclusive Doomsday Line - Sword #01 (version 2.0) is a tough, almost indestructible sword capable of generating tremendous cutting power, but balanced close to the hilt for maximum maneuverability.

While it's design may not closely resemble a traditional Japanese Katana, it draws on these ancient swords for inspiration in its cutting mechanics (notably the wider cutting blade styles such as the fearsome 'Dotanuki' blades and 'Hira-zukuri' swords), though at nearly 4lbs packs a lot more punch behind it but with the balance point just 2" from the guard, allows for surprisingly fast recovery. Devastating to other blades or melee weapons that dare to cross it's path (see the video), it is essentially of one piece construction, with the Black Micarta handle sandwiching the full width tang and secured in place with both large and small pins and a generous application of epoxy, ensuring it has no weak points.

The blade itself is made from 1095 carbon steel, which when combined with Chris's superior heat treatment process results in an EXTREMELY DURABLE and almost indestructible sword. The blade is heated to approximately 1500 degrees, until it becomes non magnetic and then quenched in brine (salt water). The 2nd step is Heat Tempering, which consists of heating the steel to 500 degrees for 2 hours, and letting it air cool. This makes for a Rockwell Hardness of approximately 57.

They are NOT Factory Made! High order volume makes it difficult to keep any of their weapons in stock, so please allow 6-8 weeks for completion and delivery.
