Scorpion Swords - Dark Ninjato 2.0 - Doomsday Line Sword #02

The second sword in the Doomsday Line Series by esteemed sword tester and sword designer, Jason Woodard, is a powerful thrusting sword designed to punch through modern armor or hide, but is also fast enough and well balanced that it no slouch in the cutting and hacking department either.

Designed to be used with two hands close in with your full bodyweight behind it, the classic 'American Tanto' shape tip combined with the tempering Chris gives it results in an 'armor piercing' capability and could in theory also be used against wild animals, such as bears, wolves or whatever other predatory or dangerous animals with thick hides or shaggy coats may follow in the aftermath of the apocalypse. But weighing in at a whopping 3lbs 10oz with a point of balance just two inches from the guard, can also pack quite a nasty cut, slice or hack (the choice is yours) and with the Black Linen Mircarta full sandwich tang, pinned and epoxied firmly in place (and wrapped in deerskin leather for comfort), is effectively of a one piece construction.

The blade itself is made from 1095 carbon steel, which when combined with Chris's superior heat treatment process results in an EXTREMELY DURABLE and almost indestructible sword. The blade is heated to approximately 1500 degrees, until it becomes non magnetic and then quenched in brine (salt water). The 2nd step is Heat Tempering, which consists of heating the steel to 500 degrees for 2 hours, and letting it air cool. This makes for a Rockwell Hardness of approximately 57.

Unlike most other swords at this price point, Scorpion Swords are individually hand made by Chris Palmer at his workshop in Missouri. All orders are handmade in our shop as orders are received. They are NOT Factory Made! High order volume makes it difficult to keep any of their weapons in stock, so please allow 6-8 weeks for completion and delivery.
