The Claymore, meaning "great sword" in Scottish Gaelic, was a formidable weapon used by Scottish Highlanders during the Wars of Scottish Independence. These swords were characterized by their long, double-edged blades and distinctive crossguards. The Claymore became a symbol of Scottish resistance against English rule, with figures like William Wallace leading the charge. Facing the Claymore was a daunting prospect for the British. The sheer size and power of the weapon, combined with the fierce reputation of the Scottish warriors who wielded it, made the Claymore a fearsome adversary.
