General Issue Kukri
Since 1943, Windlass Steelcrafts® has been the exclusive government contractor crafting these formidable kukris. Recognized as the original, official military issue, these kukris are hand-forged from high carbon steel and come with a regulation sheath. The general issue kukri has been used with devastating effectiveness by the renowned Nepalese Gurkhas, from the Siege of Delhi in 1857 to the trenches of WWI France, the New Guinea jungle in WWII, and the Falkland Islands conflict.
The blade, a robust 1/4 inch thick with deep grooves and a traditional religious notch, is designed for exceptional cutting power and durability. It takes a sharp edge, making it indispensable for outdoor activities that require chopping and cutting. The scale tang construction ensures strength, while the traditional, native hardwood handle with a standard metal butt plate provides a comfortable and secure grip.
This genuine military issue kukri comes with a copy of the government contract, the ordinance drawing, and a spec sheet, making it a unique offering in the market. The kukri also includes accessory knives, enhancing its functionality. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts, each kukri comes factory sharp and ready for use.
