This is not a fun weapon to be on the wrong end of in a battlefield. And this fully functional replica would be no exception. Serious bashing and mashing potential.
This early medieval mace would be a perfect offensive weapon in Norman warfare. Though lightweight, it could easily break bones and cave in a leather Saxon helm. The solid cast steel head has multiple blunt spikes and rope decoration, while the darkened, wooden shaft has indents for a sure grip. A steel butt cap with lanyard ring allows for easily transport on foot or horse, or enables you to tie the weapon to your wrist in battle.
A picture says a thousand words, and a quick glance at this terrifying weapon of war makes it clear what it is capable of..
