Our selection of Antique and modern made (Gendaito) Samurai Blades direct from Japan.
Here we focus primarily on two areas - primarily a selection of partially and fully restored antiques and swords made after world war II by modern smiths (Gendaito). Most are entry level blades, though we do have the occasional treasure and some real 'diamonds in the rough'.
While the full history of each sword is largely unknown, whenever possible we include all relevant certification and if so desired, blades without NBTHK certification can be sent away for Shinsha examinations.

Both Swords with official certification - the Katana was made by one of the Togugawa Shoguns own smiths, the Wakizashi at the same time by a Seki-city based artisan with complete and original Koshirae (sword fittings). A rare opportunity to own a genuine matching Samurai Daisho set in almost complete and original condition.

Genuine Antique 19th century Katana with original leather braid ito made approx 1850 towards the turbulent end of the Edo period by Fujiwara Nagayoshi of Bishu-ju (Aichi prefecture). Unrestored and in original condition, it appears to be a practical training sword used in a dojo.

WHY SUCH (RELATIVELY) LOW PRICES?
The reason for these much lower prices than normal is two fold - for several years running the domestic Japanese sword market has been getting progressively tougher due to Japans aging population and many years of recession. This has resulted in heavy discounting of many entry level antiques and modern made second hand Gendaito - so unable to sell the swords at a heavy discount in Japan, through our contacts we were able to get these discounts for international sale and have simply added a modest markup to each sword to cover our costs - thus bringing you these pieces of Japanese history in steel at what was until recently impossible prices.
