A grade higher than the T10 Ryujin Custom Katana - this sword has a 5160 Spring Steel blade with a long working life, as 5160 Spring Steel is designed to last longer than any other type of spring or tool steel. The steel has been differentially hardened with a prominent Suguha (straight line) clear hamon with an edge hardness of HRC 60 and spine hardness HRC 42.

To compliment the premium quality steel and the clean natural hamon, it is decked out in Kusaboke (Japanese quince, a plant with many deep meanings to the Japanese, one of which the transient nature of life itself) iron tsuba, matching iron fuchigashira set for maximum strength and style, copper habaki, and a super tight black cotton ito wrapped using hishigami - almost unheard of at this kind of price point!

Everything about this build is designed for frequent use over an extended period - in short, these are serious, practical blades that are surprisingly robust yet traditionally constructed and marked down to sell out fast.

My Best Blade 05/01/2025
By LT
First of all I would like to say Thank You to SBG for being such a quality resource in understanding and finding quality swords.
I bought this sword because I was seeking the highest quality and most authentic sword I could get for my money. I feel like I accomplished my goal with this purchase.
The steel is superb-deftly and expertly hand sharpened and polished. The beefy full body BLADE is a dream. The blade has a very subtle almost mirror-like straight hamon. It's beautiful and again speaks to the artisanship put into this sword.
All fittings are made from high quality cast iron-no burrs or smudges or casting errors. The floral work is very good. The grip lacing is next level at this price level.
All lacing and fittings on the sword itself were battle-ready tight and smooth on the dojo cutting course.
One of my favorite things about this sword is the all natural materials used throughout, which really ups the authenticity and makes it feel good in hand. You can connect to this sword.
I feel as comfortable having this sword with me as a spiritual object in meditation just as I do using it to strike on the training field.
Overall I bought this sword hopping for a sword that looked and performed like a 500-800 sword. I got a sword that compares, I feel, to swords I've handled at 900-1200 dollars. This is the happiest I think I've ever been with an online purchase. Thanks again SBG.
Very Picky and Only Negative: Saya is stock model with synthetic silk cord. Functional and looks fine, and honestly you're not afraid to carry this sword around or drop it or ect. It's tough and beautiful. I would recommend to anyone interested in a beautiful, usable, enduring katana. I am a bigger stronger swordsman and I love the full body blade. You really feel the smoothness in double cuts.
