Custom Katana Update

Just a quick update – the deadline for batch 32 just expired and we are now finalizing all orders with our customers and preparing to send the entire batch details to the forge to commence work by this time next week at the latest. So if you have an order in with batch 32 that was placed recently, there is not a lot of time should you wish to make any last minute changes. If this applies to you, please contact us as soon as possible so as not to hold up the production.

Batches 30 and 31 are currently in the process of sorting, inspecting and shipping. There has been a few delays and hiccups, mostly because at the last minute we relocated our team to Canada, but there are currently 3 people working through each order, checking each blade for any possible flaws, making sure the customizations are correct, and if everything is ok, re-oiling, repackaging and sending them on. So if you haven’t received your tracking number yet please be patient, we really are doing our best to get them out fast but NOT skipping any steps of the inspection process. Better to wait a few days to make sure you get the very best product possible than for us to ship a flawed or wrong sword..!

Thanks for bearing with us, more updates to follow. In the meantime, batch 33 is now open until the 7th of April with an expected delivery date of July 15th.

Certainly keeping busy..!

Custom Katana Batches 30 and 31

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update on Custom Katana Batches 30 and 31. These were both originally scheduled to start shipping to customers by the 15th of February with the caveat that they could be delayed by Chinese New Year celebrations which as many of you may already know, pretty much shut down the whole country during the month of Feb..

Both these batches managed to clear Chinese New Year and were shipped out, but there were some shipping delays caused by Chinese New Year that have pushed it behind schedule – certainly not as bad as it could have been, but the shipments have been impacted somewhat as a result.

The good news is that the latest information I have is that they are almost clear from customs and the inspecting and reshipping phase should begin next week – so please bear with us just a little longer. We don’t want to rush the inspection phase and send you a flawed product or get orders mixed up because we are rushing – so your patience is really appreciated.

Thanks so much, any further questions or concerns feel free to drop us a line.

Sincerely,

Signature

Paul Southren

Custom Katana – Batch 32 and Update

Hi Everyone!

Ok, we opened batch 32 a little behind the intended schedule – but after just confirming that batches 30 and 31 are completed and on their way from the forge, and with the forge opening in early March after Chinese New Year holidays – the timing turns out to be pretty much perfect. With few jobs in the que, batch 32 should go super smoothly and may (fingers crossed) come in earlier than the sheduled June 15 due date (though of course, we prefer that they don’t rush anything).

There are a couple of swords, all non-US orders, that are ready ship but not yet shipped from batch 29 (we are on it big time – they will all be out by Friday next week) and a couple of Aiguchi Tanto that did not make it in time from batch 30 and 31 (they will be the first thing the forge works on when they get back to work) – but otherwise, things are looking pretty good.

So for anyone who has been waiting over a 2-3 month hiatus, well – now is your chance!

Custom Katana Orders Closed for Chinese New Year 2015

Just a very quick update, a few hours ago we closed off on batch 31 of the SBG Custom Katana – however if we were to follow our usual delivery schedule, batch 32 would end up seriously delayed by Chinese New Year Celebrations at the forge in late January 2015 to February.

Rather than have the batch get delayed like this, we have closed off on new orders to allow the forge to concentrate on getting completely up to date up to and including the most recent batch that closed a few hours ago.

Updates will be made accordingly and we will be doing our best to avoid any delays to existing orders – it is theoretically possible that there may be delays, but we have factored the Chinese New Year shutdown into our calculations so we should be fine.

Apologies for any inconvenience to people wanting to get in on a new batch, but we think it is better to pause orders entirely than get a slew of update requests from customers who miss important annoucements, etc.

Thanks for your understanding, more updates to follow soon (at the moment we are finishing off on shipping batch 28 and shipping some swords ahead of schedule on 29, so it is looking good!).

Quick Update – Batch 31 is open and OK!

Hey folks!

Some good news, just been conferring with the forge, working out the logistics based on what they have to do from now until the New Years shutdown and making some forecasts based on previous batches – and in case you have not noticed, the good news is that Batch 31 has re-opened and will make it this side of the shutdown (it is batch 32 that will not be so fortunate).

Because it may be a little tight, I would much rather close off early if we get more orders than the forge can comfortably, properly handle – so NOW is definitely the time to get in on the current batch if you are in the market and can swing it.

Will update you all again soon with more news on batch 28 and 29 – in the meantime, for those of you who have been waiting, time to get designing your custom sword!

– Paul
