A couple of Hot Specials well worth a look

Just a quick note that I have drastically slashed the prices (with a sword no less!) on two of my very own designs, the Red Belly Black Snake Ko Katana and Tanto set and the Yukiken Katana, both brought to life by the SBG Black Dragon Forge.

There are not many of these in stock, and they truly are exceptional pieces – both designs are made from top quality differentially hardened T-10 Tool steel and have real hamon. And both are now seriously dsicounted – a whopping $200 off the Ko Katana, Tanto set and $70 off the Yukiken.

And just to give you an idea of what is on offer, check out the demo video by our sales manager Marco Sainte giving you a closer look at the Ko-Kat/Tanto set and putting the blades through their paces to give you some idea how they handle:

Check them out for an early Christmas Gift!

At the time of writing this post there are only 9 Yukiken in stock and 6 complete two blade sets of the Red Belly Black Snakes. And as if there really needed to be any added incentive, anyone who reads this blog post and THEN orders can get another 10% off these swords with the coupon code:

BlackDragon

The coupon code expires just before midnight on the 21st of November and is only valid at the time of ordering (i.e. it’s just for people who read the blog first, they are already massively discounted, so we cannot afford to adjust a paid order that missed this post and ordered – sorry! All the more reason to read the Sword Store Blog I guess!).

Thanks all!

Quick Update – Batch 31 is open and OK!

Hey folks!

Some good news, just been conferring with the forge, working out the logistics based on what they have to do from now until the New Years shutdown and making some forecasts based on previous batches – and in case you have not noticed, the good news is that Batch 31 has re-opened and will make it this side of the shutdown (it is batch 32 that will not be so fortunate).

Because it may be a little tight, I would much rather close off early if we get more orders than the forge can comfortably, properly handle – so NOW is definitely the time to get in on the current batch if you are in the market and can swing it.

Will update you all again soon with more news on batch 28 and 29 – in the meantime, for those of you who have been waiting, time to get designing your custom sword!

Custom Katana Update and Batch 28 Pics

Batch 28, 7 designs - interesting that this time around there are so many black saya!

Batch 28, 7 designs – interesting that this time around there are so many black saya!

Just a quick update on the SBG Custom Katana – batch 30 closed on the 5th of November as scheduled and we are currently making some last minute adjustments as per customer requests before we finalize it once and for all and get the forge hard at work to avoid the Chinese New Year Shut down.

As mentioned in the previous post, we are confident we can make it and have the swords ready by the expected 15th of February deadline, but have temporarily paused Batch 31 while we work out the exact due date as 31 is going to almost certainly hit smack bang in the middle of the month long holiday over there and we need to come up with a strategy to either minimize the delay or just hold off until we are clear.

More news coming on this shortly.

In the meantime, Batch 28 is en-route and now is a great chance to share some preview pics we received from the forge of this batch.

Batch 28, blades drawn from scabbards. Note the geometric kissaki and overall blade quality! Nice work!

That’s it for now, another update coming soon!

Thanks all,

Dragon Dao Update

Apologies to everyone waiting on the Dragon Dao pre-orders, there was a bit of a delay at customs but they cleared, have been inspected and we have set aside the best ones to send you early next week. And they are truly awesome..

The bad news is that the ones we planned to sell ex-stock, well, they aren’t as good.

As I am currently doing a bit of a write up for the November 1st edition of the Sword Buyers Digest Online Magazine, I might as well save myself a little time and just repeat what is going to be written there about Project X Chinese in a good news/bad news format.

So here goes, as appearing in the November 1st edition:

The good news: all the swords are in, and those customers who pre-ordered the Dragon Dao are going to get some of the best quality Chinese Broadswords EVER seen in North America (shipping out early next week).

The bad news: The stock we have at hand of the Dragon Dao are, however, inferior. The blades are great. But the scabbards in particular did not arrive in happy condition..

The good news: This means that there will be some bargains appearing soon as a scratch and dent sale. And I mean SERIOUSLY marked down prices..

The bad news: Well, bad news for us because we lose money (always a risk when you try something new and innovative).

The good news: Anyone who has a Project X Dragon Dao of Marquis Yi already can feel comfortable knowing no more will follow. This is it. And its also good news for those fans of Project X Japanese because the next Project X swords will be those laminated beauties…

The bad news: There are only 2 Jian of Marquis Yi available now – both are in great condition, and once they are sold – its all over.. Plus the bargains available for the scratch and dent Dao sale are in short supply and aren’t quite listed yet. But when they are, they won’t be for long. So keep an eye out!

High end sword news..

Just a quick update on the Project X Dragon Dao – it is currently clearing US customs and should be shipping out to pre-order customers as soon as possible after they have landed and been inspected.

As you will know from the previous post, the Jian of Marquis Yi arrived ahead of the Dao and as of the time I write this post there are only 2 in stock, so don’t miss out!
