Best way to sum it up?
It’s really well tempered, distally tapered, central fullered, balanced only 5″ from the guard, lightweight (4lbs 4oz) for its massive 40.5″ blade and 13.75″ handle, and it’s hard to argue that its pretty good value at $389. Made from monotempered 9260 Spring Steel and nearly unbreakable on the battlefield, if the ancient Romans had the APOC Tactical Gladius in their army, this post would almost certainly NOT be in English (okay, it’s an oversimplification – but if they had such modern blades at their disposal, odds are some of the defining moments in Roman history that went wrong on the battlefield might have gone a lot better if they had these sturdy, terrifying blades in their Kydex sheathes..)

Ever since the disastrous fire well over a decade ago, the Hanwei Forge has always struggled to keep up with demand for their high quality, professionally made swords and other functional historical replica weaponry.
