A couple more Cool Budget Chinese Swords

Following on the popularity of our affordable series of attractive and functional budget Chinese swords such as the Yong Lo and the Tang Dynasty Jian are two more swords from the same forge, and available for the same low sub $200 price point (though they look like they are worth a lot more).

The first is a version of an extremely popular design we offered in the first series of Forge Direct – the Kiangxi Horsebane Sword. Below is a quick video shot at the forge showing its edge and cutting ability – certainly not bad at all for the price.

The second is one of the most common and popular Chinese sword designs, a Han Dynasty Sword. Amazing to think that these swords were in use over 2000 years ago – this version has a beautifully tempered 65mn spring steel blade and silver colored fittings for some nice and afforfable functional sword art.

Odin’s Oar, pre-orders closing soon..

Work has already commenced on the final 10 swords of the Odin’s Oar – Sword of Runa by Longship Armory – and as of the time of writing this post the very last 3 pre-order slots are still open..

But one way or another, they will not be open for much longer.. If they are not taken up before midnight EST the 3rd of November, the opportunity to pre-order will slam shut and they will only be available to order once the final run is completed – but as these will be the last, the special pricing will be withdrawn and the last ones will be sold at true market value (sure, they might take longer to sell this way, but as once they are gone they are gone for good, this is not something we are concerned about).

So if you want to reserve one before its all too late – well, the clock is ticking..

The Sith Apprentice by Fable Blades

Brendan Olszowy has done it again with his latest original one off sword design with the Sith Apprentice.

Inspired by Star Wars, the backstory for this blade is before training with light sabers the Sith had to spent many years learning the arts of the blade before they were finally permitted to make one for themselves.

But of course a sword like this has its tale and its legend in steel, and the leaf bladed 9260 Spring Steel blade speaks for itself.

As always, this is not a production run – it is a one off original piece of functional fantasy sword art unlike any other in the world. And of course, further customization and even making a matching scabbard are options open to you should you wish to make it even more original and personal in nature.

For the rest of us, enjoy the ‘sword porn’. 😉

Custom Katana Batch 44 is closed..

Apologies for the lack of updates, I actually had to move house in the last few days and the timing is less than ideal as of course every day I miss a day of work, it piles up into a mountain of stuff to get through – and from today my goal is to chip that mountain back into a manageable molehill..

Anyway, back to the topic at hand – we just closed off on the last batch of custom swords for 2018. Normally I would have said ‘custom katana’ but this time around for some reason about 50% of our orders for this batch are actually Wakizashi Daisho sets..! Not sure why, but its interesting to note..

So yes, over the next few days I will be confirming all the customization choices and making sure that all the details are correct before we send the order through as a batch to the forge. And trying to find which bag of stuff I put my socks in (ah, the joys of moving house.. Argh)..

Update you all again soon.
